MIYANAGA Akira is a video artist based in Kyoto, Japan. Miyanaga’s work is based on a technique of composing layers of live-action footage. Rather than presenting a story through a montage of materials, he brings in the different axis of layered structure into his video art and tries to make the newly synthesized narrative branches appear in his work. In addition to presenting video works, video installations, and stills in the field of contemporary art, he also performing VJs and creates music videos.

STOCKED FOOTAGE is a series of works based on the concept of transforming Miyanaga's previous style by editing live-action footage that he shot himself into stock video that can be purchased on the Internet.
