In Making Arrangements, Ilana Harris-Babou creates carefully plated compositions using both fresh food and decaying compost. Taking inspiration from early still life painting, historical floral arrangements, and contemporary food photography, the work is a whimsical reimagining of the concept of memento mori. The video is a reminder to relish in fleeting moments joy-- and to always play with your food.
