This artwork is meant to be a found object from an alternate dimension. It's a portrait based on archival images from Sri Lanka. The format is inspired by Mughal miniature paintings which were roughly the size of this piece, and the animation is based on Victorian stereoscopic photography.

Shyama Golden is an LA based visual artist with a background in oil painting and graphic design. She worked as a designer for a decade before focusing on figurative art. She creates paintings as well as digital work which often takes the form of seamless patterns or animation.
