Black Reverie series comprises generative animations that employ Perlin noise to evoke nature, using the motion of white elements against a black backdrop. Our visual perception naturally combines similar objects, causing the individual shapes to appear as a cohesive, expansive motion. Despite being rendered on a two-dimensional plane, the interplay of lines creates a convincing illusion of three-dimensionality.

Seohyo has practiced a form of installation and performance-based work combining common everyday objects with media technology to render them unfamiliar, allowing us to perceive ordinary things in new ways. And she has turned her attention to media literacy education programs, pursuing projects to explore the different possibilities of coding through a Creative Computation class. More recently, she focuses on generative art, creating images everyday through code by constructing mathematically imagined shapes or taking inspiration from nature. She has taken part in events such as the Asia Triennial Manchester, the Kobe Biennale, the Ogaki Biennale, the Seoul Mediacity Biennale, and the Gwangju Design Biennale.
