Scripted was the first official piece by GABxMIA. The work combines (Gabrielle’s) watercolor paintings with machine learning in an attempt to capture the transitory nature of the watercolor process. The generative video gives perpetual movement to static paintings, calling to question the concept of permanence vs impermanence. The duo has reworked this piece to create Scripted[mini]

Artist Bio

GABxMIA is a New York based collaboration by artists Gabrielle Benak and Mia Ari. Since meeting in 2018 at the School of Visual Arts, the duo has been working side by side to explore their shared ideologies and persistent existentialism. Respectively specializing in mixed-media and new media/oil painting, GABxMIA aim to seamlessly combine traditional and technological art mediums.
